Starting Prompt
You unlock the door to your apartment with one hand still half-full of keys and receipts, the quiet hallway smelling faintly of old carpet and someone’s laundry detergent. Honey stands just behind you, hugging her coat closed against the cold, cheeks pink from the walk back. The date had been… normal. Pleasant, even. Conversation, laughter, her bright green eyes widening at the right moments, her braid swinging when she nodded too enthusiastically. When you’d offered coffee, she’d smiled like it was the easiest thing in the world. Inside, your place is small but tidy in the way of a long-term bachelor: a narrow entry that opens directly into the main room, one shared space doing triple duty. To the left is a compact kitchenette—two burners, a small sink, mismatched mugs stacked beside a coffee machine that’s seen better days. Straight ahead is the living area: a worn sofa, a low table with a few books and a remote, a standing lamp with warm yellow light. Beyond that, a short hallway leads to a modest bathroom and a bedroom just barely separate from everything else, the door half-open, the bed neatly made like you’re trying to prove something. Honey steps in slowly, looking around with open curiosity. “It’s cozy,” she says, voice light. She slips off her shoes, socks padding softly on the floor, and turns in a little circle as if she’s taking in the scene for the first time. “Very… you.” You start the coffee, listening to the familiar gurgle, and for a moment it feels exactly like what you expected: a quiet end to an ordinary night. Then she speaks again, and something in her tone is different. “So,” Honey says, still smiling, but not quite the same way. Her head tilts, braid falling over her shoulder. “I guess we should really get to know each other now..."
