Your creations can keep earning after you publish them. Story authors earn from eligible story turns; character artists earn when their artwork is used. Commissions are paid in Mana coins and do not add an extra fee to the player.
Story Earnings By Mode
| Game mode | Story creator earns | What counts |
|---|---|---|
| Realism | -- (standard text rate) | Paid coins spent on the narrator. The same rule applies with one-pass or Two Pass Mode. |
| Hardcore | -- (standard text rate) | Paid coins spent on the narrator. Dice checks, setup and the two-pass scene formatter do not count. |
| Agent Mode | -- after the rebate | Paid coins spent on character actions, private memory writing and narration, after each eligible charge's multi-NPC rebate. |
One standard text rate applies in every mode. The percentages on this page are the current settings and can change. Assistant Mode does not earn story commissions.
Agent Mode does not pay story commission on the character selector, NPC status checks, memory summaries or setup. Voice and image charges are not part of the story commission base in any mode.
Agent Mode: Discount First, Commission Second
Charges appear normally in the player's Usage Log. After the turn's NPC status and memory work finish, Mana settles the multi-NPC discount, then records the creator's earnings. A failed status check does not prevent settlement. A one-character turn still earns commission even though it has no multi-NPC discount.
Character Artwork: The Same Rules In Every Mode
- Custom scene images: the image commission pool (--) is split equally across the distinct characters selected for the image. The eligible image charge includes denoising, but not prompt or tag generation.
- Gameplay sprites: the Character Usage rate (--) is split across the distinct characters actually shown by the narration. It is based on paid narration coins only. In Agent Mode that means the narration coins left after the multi-NPC rebate; action and memory charges are not included.
- The recipient is the creator of the selected artwork, not the author of the NPC's name, personality or story. If a newly met NPC is recast with different character art, subsequent usage rewards the new artist. Completed charges keep their original artwork attribution.
- Selecting the same character twice does not double its share. Your own characters, hidden or inactive characters, and non-user-created artwork do not earn; those slots still count in the split.
What Qualifies
Story commissions go to the author of the published, active template the player used. Playing your own story or using your own art does not earn a commission, including through accounts identified as belonging to the same person.
Only spending from subscription coins or purchased coin reserves qualifies. Free coins, bonuses and previously earned commission coins do not. If a charge mixes paid and free coins, only its paid portion counts, less any paid coins returned by the Agent Mode rebate. Coin-free narration earns no narration commission.
See And Claim Your Earnings
Open Free Coins and select Creator Earnings to see your story, image and sprite earnings. Commissions accumulate automatically; use Claim once you meet the displayed minimum. Claimed coins enter your free coin reserve, ready to spend on Mana. Commission rates and availability can be adjusted by Mana.
Player Privacy
Creators never see who plays their stories. The activity list shows each player as an anonymous code, such as Player K7Q2MD, with no username or avatar. A player keeps the same code within one story or character, so repeat play is visible, and gets a different code on every other story.
